Lars-Inge Bjärlestam, Cello

Lars-Inge Bjärlestam is a highly regarded Swedish cellist and educator. He studied with Erling Blöndal-Bengtsson in Stockholm, Ralph Kirshbaum in London, and Professor Aldo Parisot in New Haven, USA. Since 1984, he has been working at Karlstad University in Sweden. Lars-Inge has shared his expertise by conducting numerous masterclasses across Europe and Asia, with his most recent session held in Taiwan in November 2019.

Throughout a significant portion of his career, Lars-Inge held the position of the first-desk cellist in some of the most prestigious orchestras in Sweden and Norway, including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Norwegian Chamber Orchestra, and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. His performances have graced renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Orchestra Hall in Chicago, Boston Symphony Hall, Kennedy Center in Washington, Festspielhaus in Salzburg, Châtelet in Paris, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and various venues in Milan, Rome, Lisbon, Beijing, and Shanghai.
